“I wanted to tell you how I created Love, Ms. Davis.

Early in my teaching career, I started writing notes and letters to my students, and “love” was a sight word we often practiced. So, I thought, Oh! I’m always going to sign my letters with “Love.”

One day, a student was writing on the whiteboard and said, “Ms. Davis, you need a heart by your name when you sign ‘Love.’”
And I thought, Yes—that’s a great idea!

From that moment on, I always signed my notes and messages: Love, with a heart, Ms. Davis.

Because this is why I do this job—because I love you. I love students. I want what’s best for them. And Love, Ms. Davis represents the very root of teaching: Love.

It means I truly want to give you confidence. To help you become the best version of yourself. To make a difference in this world – by loving you.

So that’s why it’s called Love, Ms. Davis.“
